Key Achievements
CareerSource Broward (formally WorkForce One) (2003 - Present)
Contributions to the Professional Placement Network (PPN) include the following:
- Planned, Developed and launched, with the participation of the PPN and MIS staff, the first ever Online electronic registration system for CareerSource Broward (formally WorkForce One) and the PPN program
- Developed the first Process Model for the PPN program
- Developed the first training program for all PPN staff
- Developed the Year-to-Date reporting tool for PPN performance
- Co-managed with the PPN staff the training and support of over 28,000 customers since 2002
- Trained workforce professionals from seventeen Florida Workforce Regions and five other states in order to establish PPN programs in their respective workforce regions
Contributions to Business Services included the following:
- Developed a Strategic Plan to identify and address workforce issues in the Bioscience and Healthcare industries
- Organized and orchestrated the first (1995) Biotechnology Summit at FAU to address South Florida's employers’ and academic issues
- Developed a Process Flow Chart to capture the activities involved with State and local Training Grants
- Developed career ladders for the Biotechnology, Bio-pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Healthcare industries
Contributions to the Resource Center included the following:
- Developed and prepared a Safety / Emergency Exit plan for the South One-Stop Center and which was adopted by the other two Centers in Broward County
- Designed a Process Flow Plan to capture Intake Flow for Job Seekers in the One-Stop Centers
- Developed a Basic PC Skills workshop for clients with very little or no experience in using a Personal Computer
Broadview NP Acquisition Corp./Network Plus, Inc. (1999 - 2002)
Contributions to Network Plus, Inc. included the following:
- Projects included directing the cut-over of two Lucent Technologies #5 ESS Local Switches and the build out of 83 Collocation sites in an infrastructure with a network footprint linking Local and Long Distance (DMS-250) switches in Miami and Orlando, Florida and Norcross, Georgia with other switches in New York and Massachusetts
- Lit up fifteen (15) metropolitan SONET fiber Rings serving 41 Collocation sites in Georgia and Florida
- Total Long Haul Fiber Optical Miles = 8,400
- Total Metropolitan Fiber Optical Miles = 4,596
Nortel Networks (1997 - 1999)
Contributions to Nortel Networks included the following:
- Managed a highly skilled team of 22 technical members
- Reduced turnaround time between the customer’s equipment order and equipment delivery from 30 days to 19 days
- Improved Customer Satisfaction scores in the Caribbean from 83% to 100% and in Latin America from 47% to 93%
Verizon/Bell Atlantic/NYNEX/New York Telephone (1970 - 1997)
Contributions to Verizon included the following:
Associate Director - Engineering & Support NYNEX Network Systems (NNS) Company
- Participated in the planning, development and implementation of wireless communications projects in Indonesia , China, Taiwan and Brazil.
- Participated in drafting Request For Proposal (RFP) documents for potential vendors of cellular and transmission equipment.
- Reviewed the responses to the RFPs, in the surveying and do-diligence activities for new initiatives and ventures, as well as, directing the planning and engineering for the networks.
Rotational assignment at NYNEX Mobile Communications Company (NMCC)
- Participated in planning and testing the conversion of NMCC’s Signaling Network from Mulitfrequency signaling to Signaling System #7 (SS7) signaling.
- Evaluated and implemented the SS7/IS-41 Inter-System Networking trial with other major cellular carriers and the Public Switched Telephone Network.
Area Operations Manager at NYNEX - New York , SS7 Network & Tandems District
- Responsible for implementing the SS7 Network from a Regional Signal Transfer Point (STP).
- Responsible for successfully coordinating and directing the conversion of the then Central Office signaling system to SS7 in New York State.
- Responsible for planning and implementing NYNEX’s first Tier I Surveillance, Analysis, and Control Center for the SS7 Network.
District Manager - Acting (1991 - 1992) SS7 Network & Tandems District
- Successfully negotiated with other respective New York State Turfs for overall responsibility for the Control, Surveillance and Analysis of the entire New York State SS7 Network.
Central Office Manager - New York Telephone
- Planned, implemented and successfully deployed a $34 Million #4ESS Tandem switch to serve subscribers in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, affected by a Central Office fire in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn which had destroyed or damaged several key switching entities in the network .
- Successfully supervised the implementation and deployment of this Tandem switch in a compressed schedule of eleven weeks and soon developed the reputation as a “Can-do” manager.
